3/16/2026 Prof. Václav Skala successfully defended his DSc Thesis

On March 16, 2026, Prof. Václav Skala from the University of West Bohemia successfully defended his DSc Thesis entitled “Meshless Methods in Computer Graphics.” The DSc title (Doctor of Science) is the highest scientific degree awarded by the Czech Academy.

The defense took place in front of the Committee for Computer Science and Cybernetics,  chaired by Prof. Jan Flusser (UTIA). The Thesis focused on computational aspects of Radial basis functions (RBF) and their applications in surface interpolation.
